Opera = GBrower?

最近一直传闻说Google将收购Opera浏览器(最可信的传闻来自Yahoo欧洲前总裁Pierre Chappaz)，如果收购成功的话，那么先前Google的GBrower传闻也就有了下落了，而一直都在传闻被Google收购的近亲Firefox，不知道接下来的着落在哪里！

虽然Opera在全球浏览器使用榜之列第三，位于IE和Firefox之后，但是一直以来Opera都很重视手机用户的开发，意在成为手机浏览器中的第一名，这也许就是Google收购他们的主要意图。

Jon von Tetzchner, chief executive officer and co-founder of Oslo-based Opera Software, is accustomed to people snickering about his grand aspirations. So he didn’t mind drumming up some publicity by making a laughable promise: Tetzchner vowed to swim from Norway to America if a million copies of the company’s Web browser were downloaded in four days.

而纵观Google以前的收购案例，我们不难看出他们在收购方面的取向，Google一般不会为了对方公司的用户数量而收购这个公司，他们更偏向于收购一个技术含量比较高的公司，也许在业界内还没有形成规模，这也是他们为什么不收购Skype或Firefox的理由，这方面Keso也有总结。

BTW: 在这一点上Yahoo公司正好相反，Yahoo偏好那些用户数量达到一定规模的公司，比如Flickr，Delicious。
